DASCOM Americas Announces New Thermal Label Printer - DL-820

Oct 04, 2018

DASCOM Americas (www.dascomamericas.com), a recognized leader in business transaction document print solutions, today announced a new thermal label printer designed to bring exceptional features at a value price point. The easy-to-use, aesthetically-appealing DL-820 printer brings an array of standard and optional features normally found only on much more expensive printers in this market space.

The DL-820 provides thermal transfer and direct thermal printing at speeds up to 8 inches (203 mm) per second at a resolution of 203 dots per inch (dpi) print density. The printer comes with USB and Ethernet Interfaces as standard offerings, but also offers several other options including Serial and Parallel connectivity.

Media handling is also a major advantage and allows for a great degree of flexibility since the unit will accept either roll or fold paper, and media cut can be achieved through either standard tear blade or auto-cutter or peeler options. The tear blade allows for tear-off in either direction or up or down depending upon the operator's preference.

According to Juan Vidaurrazaga, Vice President of Sales for DASCOM Americas: "The DL-820 is uniquely positioned to give users advanced features and versatility at an exceptional price point. The product's open architecture allows easy operation and simplicity to change the paper roll or ribbon. Customers will also have the ability to easily switch between some of the most popular barcode printer emulations including ZPL II and EPL, and TSC programming and label formats." He adds: "The unit also comes with a very large media compartment capable of handling ribbon as long as 980 feet (360 meters) or paper rolls with a maximum outside diameter of 8 inches (203 mm) so user intervention is less frequent, and overall operation more efficient."

The DL-820 will be distributed through a network of regional and national channel partners of DASCOM beginning immediately.

DASCOM Americas headquarters are located approximately 2 hours south of Washington, D.C. The company offers a wide selection of serial impact, thermal, point of sale, and specialty printers marketed under the Tally® and Tally DASCOM brand. The company does business as DASCOM Americas, SBI, LLC.

Further, the company's heritage can be traced back to more than 30 years of document print solutions, and DASCOM maintains global facilities involving research, engineering, production and sales in countries including China, Germany, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The company also does business in more than 100 countries around the globe.
